Wow…I’m pooped! This summer at our new Barnes Boulevard location was fantastic! We had overflowing full and half day summer art classes, had lots of walk in customers and field trips – our kilns have been running so hard the electric company wants to know what the heck we’re doing in here! As of Saturday, August 5th ALL SUMMER ART PROJECTS WILL BE READY FOR PICK UP, so if you’ve been wondering what’s done or not done, it will all be on the shelves and ready to go home. Come in anytime before school starts and we’ll give you a 25% discount off pottery or canvas painting projects…school begins August 10th, so don’t delay.
NEW! We just added “Board Art” to our offerings. What is Board Art — fun, easy and take-home that day! We have various shapes that can be used to decorate your home — whether it’s your front door, door handle, wall art or other, these shapes are creative and you get to paint them any color you want. We have lots of samples (some two-sided for double the use), and price points at $25 for 18″, $18 for 12″ and $12 for 6″ – pick your favorites.
If you didn’t have a chance to sign your children up for our summer art classes, that’s okay — we’re going to take the projects that were the most fun and put those in our Friday Night Club ClayZ Kids projects beginning in September (we know how busy back to school August can be). Some of our greats are, Hocus Pocus Spellbook, Emoji plates, wet clay wizards, super hero plates…the list is long! Club ClayZ Kids happens every Friday (starting in September) from 6:30 – 8:30 and always includes pizza, a drink and a project — sometimes we also watch movies on our big screen TV and have popcorn!
Now for the adults — Canvas Painting Classes are beginning to get put back on the schedule. We’re going to try to have one or two pottery and/or canvas classes during the afternoons for those who may not want to drive at night. We’re also hoping to bring Journaling and Creative Doodling Workshops — these will be more of a social, sharing of supplies and ideas with a low class cost of $5. If you want us to provide your first supplies, we can take the hassle out of picking out initial supplies to just get started – then try out our supplies to discover if you want to add to your personal supply.
Homeschool classes will also be beginning in September – we’re working on a class plan that includes wet clay, mixed media, pottery painting techniques, crafting and cultural arts. We’re still refining the details, but will be sure to post as soon as we have them all in place.
We’ll also be adding Toddler Time Thursdays to our schedule – we’ll have pre-drawn tiles or small figurines related to a book of our choice. The best part of pottery glazes is that they are non-toxic, lead free and wash out of clothing with cold water. No need to pre-treat, hurry and wash – just save for your next cold load and everything washes out. Great for those little hands that get messy.
Daycare centers, schools and other children groups remember ClayZ for your upcoming holiday needs — we can coordinate on or off-site ornament, mug or plate painting events; we also do team building events both at the studio or your location. Just call us and we’ll be happy to work out the details. 321.453.4848.
And last, but not least – the studio will be closed for a week (August 20-28th) while I go on a much needed vacation. Jayme will have the studio open on Saturday and Sunday 12 noon – 5pm* (*last seating) only. Please check our calendar for specific dates.
